Forgot about my goals for the week

Do you sometime think you would forget your head if it wasn’t attached, well that has been me of late.  Probaly at the top of my list of goals this week such be to either make more lists or just take some ginko.  Anyway, my return has been going okay, not great but just okay.  I don’t know what I expected it to be, but it definitely harder than I imagined. A few weeks off can really screw with you.

But I’m determined, so my goals for the week are:

1. More water, and then a little more

2.  really watch the portions

3. hit the gym  at least 3x this week

4. Blog

5. remember small steps are still steps.

Okay, I’m back….I have a few tough weeks…ready to return to my goals

Hello everyone!!!

To my buddies, I’m sorry I have been absent lately. But, I’m back in the game, ready to get back on the horse, you know any other saying you can think of as well. 

The last few week have been really tough. My mother was in a bad car accident, with my car. She is doing okay now, but spent the first week in the hospital. Since she was visiting, I was the only one available to go and see her everyday, and the hospital they took her to is about 45 minute drive from my house. She has 7 cracked ribs on her left side, so of course moving about and pain was the real issues. And I had to deal with my insurance company. I could have a whole blog just about that experience, but I’ll save that for another time and day. After she got out, she spent an additional week and half with me. I was helping with dressing and such, making sure she took her meds. Ironically, she started to kid me and call me Mom.  Gotten love the role reversal.  She just return home this past week.

Now, I love my mom and didn’t have any problems taking care of her. It’s just my schedule went so out of wack. Everything just went out the window, eating, sleeping, exercising and work. So needlessly to say, I have gained back about 8lbs, since I been on buddyslim last.  I stepped on the scale and just about had a heart attack.  I knew I gained weight, but whew, talk about a reality check.

I realized I need to take back control, starting with my routine. I went back to the gym this week and let’s just say it has been tough, but I’m determined. I’ve been trying to focus on the basics like water, veggies and portion control. I really want to lose those 8lbs before my birthday next month. It’s the new goal for me.
